The Dell PowerEdge T440 has two Processors with 16 DIMMS. This is a bit more than double what the T340 was able to handle. The fans and heat sinks provided will provide sufficient cooling. You have the option to install a redundant external fan on rear of the chassis. If a GPU is installed, and its under 75W. The GPUs must support an active (embedded fan). Unless a High power (>75 W) GPU cards are installed then that uses the GPU AUX cable. This GPU configuration should have dual system fans without redundancy.

The system board comes with 2 x 1GbE LOM but also supports up to 4 PCIe cards for expanding the networking capabilities.
Onboard SATA ports (S140) are not accessible if mini PERC is installed.
The new generation PERC 11 H750, H350, and HBA350i adapters cannot be mixed with the PERC H740P, H730P, H330, HBA330 adapters of the previous generations in one system.

Observe the following guidelines while installing a GPU card:
- Supports only single slot GPU card
- Supports only active (embedded fan) GPU card
- GPU is supported in the rack and tower mode configuration.
- GPU can be installed only on systems that have 1100 W (recommended) or higher power supply units.
- Each GPU card supports up to 32 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory.
